Many photographers complaint about cameras built in flashes ruin the quality
of the photos. However, what are the disadvantages of using pop up flash affect
the photos taken? You might want to avoid to use the camera's pop-up flash are:
- The size of digital camera's built in flash is normally small. The
smaller light source will produce harsher light.
- The position of the pop-up flashes are usually designed right above
the camera's lens. Imagine this is like you are wearing helmet with the
light mounted in front.
- The position of the flash is fixed and the flash will hit straight
to the object. As a result, the subject will look like 2D, flat and
lack of dimension.
- Due to the reasons above, if your shooting object is human, the
flash tends to produce red-eyes effect.
