Non conventional camera lenses for close up images
|
It is possible to use other types for close-up and macro photography, in particular those designed for use in enlargers. Because enlarger lenses are designed to work best close to their subject (i.e., the negative in the enlarger) they can make excellent macro lenses when attached to extension bellows. Most enlarger lenses have a 42 mm Leica-type screw thread, and adapters are available from specialist suppliers to convert this thread to camera bayonet fittings such as Canon and Nikon. Other lenses to try would be those from old cine cameras, which usually have a 'C'-mount screw thread, for which, again, adapters are available.
