Wide angle lenses in close up images

Wide-angle lenses can be used to give highly creative close-up images, but they can be difficult to use. For example, a 28 mm lens will be just 3.5 cm (1.5 in.) away from the subject at a magnification of 1/4×, requiring very precise positioning of the camera. However, the wide angle of view does mean that you will include much more of the background in the image, showing a plant in its habitat, for example.
